Hi there! I am Melissa (she/her), and I am a Registered Dietitian with a B.Sc. in Nutrition Degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Since beginning my career in 2019 I have experience managing the nutritional needs of clients from all age groups ranging from infants and children to adults with a wide range of disease states and children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Over the last few years I've been at the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital working with infants and children up to age 17. I am trained in the Sequential-Oral-Sensory Approach to feeding with additional advanced training to support Autistic Children.
I've seen the immense stress that parents experience when their child is struggling with nutritional related concerns and feeding and I feel truly lucky that I am able to support families through those times. It is a privilege and I love working together with families to ensure their child is growing and developing to their full potential.
Although my main focus area is pediatric care, I am also experienced working with people of all ages and welcome clients who would like support with chronic disease management such as Celiac disease, diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure and cholesterol, IBD, and more.
My main areas of expertise include:
● Poor growth
● Failure to thrive
● Tube feeding
● Allergies/intolerances
● Supporting the Breastfed Infant
● Picky eating/Problem Feeding
● Neurodiversity affirming feeding therapy
I can't wait to meet you and become a part of your village!
